Costa Rica – Warm Water Surfing All Year Around

Sometimes we just take it for granted that we surf in warm water all year around and forget that in most surfing destinations around the world, surfers wear wet or dry suits.  But then we get reminded by our guests how great it feels to jump out of bed at 5:30 in the morning, grab a cup of freshly brewed coffee and do the first session of the day in shorts or a bikini.

And if that were not enough, they also remind us that most of our breaks here are beach breaks that don’t require to take a boat out to a reef and that the surfing culture here is not as competitive as in Hawaii or Australia where surfing is a serious sport.  Here it is more about Pura Vida!

Costa Rica is also a great place to learn.  Many of our guests enjoy trying out to surf as one of their vacation activities especially since the water is so warm.  Kids usually do really well.

Some of the surfing highlights around our sustainable luxury hotels and lodges.
