Hammocks – A Representation of Eco Luxury in Sustainable Resorts

There are few things that are as representative for an eco-luxury vacation in the tropics than high quality hammocks in spectacular settings. We love to see our guests ” hang out” for hours. After finishing a great book or taking a very deep nap, they usually get up with a big smile on their face and feel totally relaxed.

In some of our resorts, like at Arenas del Mar in Manuel Antonio or Latitude 10 in Santa Teresa, they are strung between palm trees on the beach so that it is easy to fetch a hotel employee and order an ice cold beer, some coconut water or maybe a Mojito as well. In some of our other hotels and lodges, the hammocks are part of the room inventory and to be enjoyed in the privacy of your casita.

At Kura Design Villas in Uvita, you can overlook the Whale”™s Tale Sand Bank from your designer hammock. At the Harmony Hotel in Nosara, you can observe the Howler monkeys as they jump from tree to tree in the canopy above you. At Lapa Rios Eco Lodge on the Osa Peninsula, you can see the wildlife right off your deck and at Jicaro Island Ecolodge in Nicaragua, you can just look out over the lake and see the sun set over the Mombacho Volcano.

No matter where you are, it just feels like vacation. Here is to many well spent hours in a hammock doing absolutely nothing. At Cayuga, we feel that you need to find a balance between all the activities and tours that we offer you. After all, our philosophy is not only about Experience ““ Learn ““ Connect. It is also about relaxing.
