On September 18th, 2012 we had our BIG day in New York City. Conde Nast Traveler invited us to receive our second World Saver Award during their 25th anniversary celebration where Visionaries such as Hillary Clinton, Richard Branson and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (among others) were presented with awards.
We had great fun hanging out backstage with all the celebrities before going on stage to receive our awards. What a great honor for us to represent Costa Rica & Nicaragua, Cayuga and sustainable tourism at this very glamorous event. After receiving our award from Conde Nast Editor Klara Glowczewska, we were invited to one of those New York City Cocktail parties of the ” rich and famous”. So we were chatting with Susan Sarandon about the property she bought in Nosara (close to our Harmony Hotel), exchanging notes with Four Seasons CEO Kathleen Taylor and talking to Puma CEO Jochen Zeitz about Usain Bolt and his work on an Environmental P&L Statement. A great honor to have received this World Saver Award in such a prestigious setting and a great networking experience.
