At Cayuga Sustainable Hospitality, we believe that travel should facilitate strong and meaningful connections.

Guests

We want the guests who stay at our properties to feel a personal connection with our employees, members of the local communities where our hotels are located, as well as local culture and customs.

Examples of these kinds of experiences include:

  • Joining locals for an afternoon mejenga during low tide at the Harmony Hotel.
  • Visiting the Carbonera School and exchanging games, songs and smiles with local children at Lapa Rios Ecolodge.
  • Spending a few hours with the resident guide hiking in the rainforest and discussing environmental issues at Arenas Del Mar.
  • Horseback riding through the coffee plantations of Finca Rosa Blanca with a local neighbor who, while not being able to speak a word of English, manages to convey a sense of place and culture.
  • Talk up the locals that come from around the world working at Latitude 10 and hear their interesting stories.

Employees

We want the employees of our hotels to feel a personal connection to their work, their responsibilities and our guests, as well as a sense of pride and accomplishment.  We also want employees to feel a personal connection with their coworkers and managers, as well as a connection with Cayuga Sustainable Hospitality, its mission and goals.

Hotel Owners

We want the owners to connect with the employees of our hotels and members of Cayuga Sustainable Hospitality, and to feel “at home” whenever they visit their properties.  We look forward to working together to reach the highest standards of quality, service and sustainability, and to bring about positive change and progress.
