Family Vacation Itineary: Travel in Costa Rica with kids

A family vacation is a great way to reconnect, spending quality time together while having a fun and creating new memories. Day 1 and 2: Volcanoes, Cloud Forests and Coffee AT FINCA ROSA BLANCA COFFEE PLANTATION & INN

Finca Rosa Blanca is a great place to start your family vacation. Located only 20 minutes from the San Jose Airport, but far away from the hustle and bustle of San Jose downtown for you to unwind and have all the family enjoy the beautiful grounds and solar heated pool. The hotel is set amongst the volcanoes and farms of the Central Highlands and the perfect base for guided adventures accompanied by our onsite naturalist guide. Many families have enjoyed the tour of the organic coffee plantation that is followed by a coffee cupping session and the chance to prepare your own coffee beverage.

Day 3, 4, 5, and 6: LIVE THE RAINFOREST AT ITS BEST IN LAPA RIOS ECOLODGE

Take a domestic Nature Air or Sansa flight to Puerto Jimenez on the wild Osa Peninsula (which National Geographic described as the world’s most biologically diverse place on earth) and get ready for a real rainforest adventure and wildlife viewing at its best. This award winning eco resort is a dream come true for families looking for an active time that includes wild waterfall and rainforest hikes, horseback riding, surf lessons, ocean kayaking, dolphin tours and much more. Lapa Rios is a great place to reconnect all family members and teach children about the importance of conservation by exploring the rich rainforest flora and fauna first hand.

Day 7, 8 and 9: EXPERIENCE WHERE THE BEACHES MEET THE RAINFOREST AT ARENAS DEL MAR

We will arrange a private transfer up the coast to the Central Pacific. Manuel Antonio is Costa Rica’s most famous National Park and a great destination for those families looking to experience a variety of active adventures. White water rafting, canopy tours, ocean kayaking, mangrove and dolphin tours, night walks and hikes are just a few of the many outdoor activities offered in the area. Your base will be Arenas del Mar, which is Manuel Antonio’s only luxury resort located right on the beach. Two secluded beaches are just steps away from your room and offer the perfect setting to relax after taking part in those many adventures.

Day 10: An Oasis in the city of San Jose, Hotel Grano de Oro

Take a short domestic flight to San Jose and check into the Grano de Oro Hotel. Hopefully you will have time for a three hour guided tour of San Jose that will allow you to learn about the local people and culture. After a great dinner at the famous Grano de Oro restaurant and a good night’s rest we will take you to the airport to return home after this great natural Costa Rica Family Adventure.

Possible Extension: Surf and Relax AT HARMONY HOTEL
