A family vacation is a great way to reconnect, spending quality time together while having a fun and creating new memories. At the Cayuga Collection Hotels and Eco Lodges we want to help you create a unique family experience that is different from any other vacation you have enjoyed in the past. We offer all the fun, adventure, and comfort that families want most, while at the same time elevating the experience to world-class standards in some of Costa Rica’s top destinations.

And most importantly, the experience will be guilt free as our hotels and lodges are world leaders in sustainability. Take part in our vision for a more sustainable future, supporting local communities and the pristine, natural environment of Costa Rica. We have seen that children of all ages appreciate this approach offering a softer and more responsible way of tourism. Many kids later use their vacation experience to present school projects on conservation, the rainforest or our local culture.

Our hotels, resorts and lodges offer a great variety of family oriented activities from guided rainforest hikes to zip-lining, surfing, horseback riding, kayaking and white water rafting. Pick and choose what best fits your interests and needs. Take a look at this sample family vacation itinerary.

Please note that some of the Cayuga Collection Hotels are more apt for small children than others. While Kurà and Jicaro are adult only, we recommend Lapa Rios for children age 6 and above. All other hotels receive children of all ages.

For a kid six years and older, Lapa Rios Eco Lodge near Corcovado National Park is a dream come true. No place offers more opportunities to see monkeys, sloths, Toucans and many other rain forest animals.

Arenas del Mar Beachfront and Rainforest Resort in Manuel Antonio is the perfect destination for an active family vacation. No other destination in Costa Rica offers the variety of tours and adventures.

Balance out the beach experience with a coffee plantation experience at Finca Rosa Blanca Inn just 20 minutes from the San Jose Airport. This can serve as a base to explore tropical cloud forests and various volcanoes in the area.

Latitude 10 Resort in Santa Teresa is a very popular destination for multi-generational vacations due to the possibility of a “buy out” of the whole six room resort.

The Harmony Hotel in Nosara is a great destination for families with a variety of interests among family members. Between surf lessons, yoga, adventure tours and a great beach, there should be something for everyone.

Most visitors to Costa Rica spend a night or two in the Capital City of San Jose. The Grano de Oro Hotel features one of the city’s best fine dining restaurants with a great kids menu.
